EcoAdapt Strategies LLC is a new consultancy dedicated to adapting floodplain management strategies to meet the challenges of a changing climate. With more frequent and intense storm events and rising sea levels, effective floodplain management and infrastructure investments are necessary to adapt the existing man-made environment to become more resilient. The roots of the company name lie in developing practical strategies that evolve and adapt to climate change over time. Success at climate change adaptation cannot be framed as a “all or nothing” strategy with an unlimited budget over a short period of time.  EcoAdapt Strategies was formed to meet this challenge.

Rebecca Jones, CFM – Rebecca Jones is the owner of EcoAdapt Strategies, a floodplain and grant management consulting firm.  She recently retired from the NFIP Coordinator’s Office at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection where she was the grant manager for a $50M HUD CDBG-DR post-Superstorm Sandy infrastructure program and the lead for the Office’s FEMA Compliance Assistance State Supported Element program which works with municipalities on floodplain regulations.  She has a B.S. in Geosciences from Penn State and an MBA with a Real Estate concentration from Rutgers.  She is a Certified Floodplain Manager, a certification issued by the Association of State Floodplain Managers.  She is a member of this organization and is a member of state affiliate organizations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  She also serves as the Legislative Chair of the New Jersey Association of Floodplain Managers.
